The KryoFast cryosurgery console was specifically developed for use in ophthalmic surgery. It is ideal for cryopexy—the targeted freezing of retinal defects such as retinal tears or holes that can lead to retinal detachment. KryoFast is used to treat both existing retinal detachments and retinal tears, provided they are not complicated by severe proliferative vitreoretinal disease (PVR). The system is also suitable for the prophylactic treatment of lesions associated with an increased risk of retinal detachment.
Efficient refrigeration technology – consistently reliable
Thanks to its sophisticated design and user-friendly features, KryoFast supports safe and efficient use in everyday surgical procedures. The system is based on the Joule-Thomson effect and ensures a constant cryotip temperature of -65 °C – regardless of external conditions. The cold is generated by the expansion of medical-grade N₂O or CO₂ gas at room temperature.
